[SMM Analysis] Phase I of Sichuan Sichuang Lithium Industry's Annual 50,000 mt Battery-Grade Lithium Chemicals Production Enters Critical Environmental Assessment Stage

Recently, Sichuan Sichuang Lithium Co., Ltd.'s planned "230,000 mt/year High-Grade Basic Lithium Chemicals Project" achieved significant progress. The first phase of the project has completed the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement and entered the second public notification stage. According to public information, this major project by Sichuan Sichuang Lithium has a grand overall plan and completed overall filing in December 2024. The total investment of the project is as high as 5.2 billion yuan, and the construction period is planned from August 2025 to May 2028. The phase currently advancing the environmental assessment is the first phase; as the forerunner of the entire plan, its success is crucial to the overall project.

Sichuan Sichuang Lithium Co., Ltd. was established in June 2023, with its registered address in the De'A Industrial Park, Mianzhu City, Sichuan Province. As an affiliated company of the local well-known enterprise Scenery Lithium system, it leverages mature industrial background, a complete supply chain, and technical expertise, focusing on the manufacturing of basic chemical raw materials, and the sales and technical development of chemical products and lithium battery-related materials. Adhering to the philosophy of "Green Production, Quality First, Innovation-Driven," it integrates sustainable development throughout the entire process. In the future, taking this project as an opportunity, it aims to expand capacity, deepen innovation, and fully build a leading domestic lithium battery material supply platform.

The "230,000 mt/year High-Grade Basic Lithium Chemicals Production Project" is constructed in three phases. The first phase includes the construction of main production plants and production lines for 10,000 mt/year high-grade lithium phosphate, 20,000 mt/year battery-grade lithium hydroxide, and 20,000 mt/year battery-grade lithium carbonate, along with the main public and auxiliary utilities and auxiliary facilities. The second phase involves the construction of main production plants and production lines for 80,000 mt/year battery-grade lithium hydroxide, along with corresponding public and auxiliary utilities and facilities. The third phase consists of the construction of main production plants and production lines for 100,000 mt/year battery-grade lithium dihydrogen phosphate, along with the remaining public and auxiliary utilities and facilities.

Amid the global wave of energy transition, the advancement of this project holds clear industrial significance. Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly enhance the domestic supply capability of core raw materials for lithium batteries, further consolidate Sichuan Province's strategic advantage in the upstream sector of lithium battery materials, and provide strong local support for the downstream cathode material, power battery, and NEV industries.
